Hi Jubilee Friends
Time for our latest update on the upcoming contemplation conference!
We’d like to give you a sneak peek of what you’ll be learning about on Friday, the first full day of the event. But first, keep in mind that each day of this year’s conference offers a unique experience. In order to offer more flexibility to people looking to learn about contemplation and how we can use it to heal our world, we are offering each conference day as a separate workshop.
If you are not able to attend the entire 3 day conference, you may sign up for select days.
Friday, October 16
On Friday, conference participants will learn about Our Journey Into Existence. The day’s events will include lectures, contemplative reflection, contemplative movements and integration time.
Adel Compton is a lifelong learner and mentor with nursing and ministry experience from rural, remote and urban prairie intercultural contexts. Her passion to empower all ages and all peoples to strengthen spiritual health is currently expressed in her role as Regional Director Spiritual Health Services for Winnipeg Regional Health Authority.
Compton will trace her own life’s journey and reflect on where she found healing sanctuary in contemplative practices such as prayer and spending time in nature. Then, participants will have a chance to contemplate their own lives, which could include identifying their own unique healing sanctuaries.
“We can identify or imagine healing sanctuaries that support moving forward in health, or in illness, or in the midst of conflicts,” she says. “I will be showing the link to health, as a way to stimulate people to learn how to create their own healing sanctuaries whether they are sick or healthy, or caring for someone else. The key is to remember that we can create environments where fear takes a back seat.”
