Construction Update on the House of Prayer
When Carol Ann first brought the five of us to the piece of land she had been drawn to, and shared with us IMG_8316her vision of constructing a House of Prayer, a seed was planted.

We recognize that there is need for a place of quiet outside of the city, a place where people can come to be with the Spirit in nature, away from the distractions of their daily lives.

At first we could not see how to bring this vision to reality until an anonymous benefactor gifted Carol Ann the money to buy the land.

With this incredible gift in hand, we gathered and together, through a contemplative process, arrived at a shared vision of the House of Prayer.

Loving skill and devotion given by our friend and architect, Cal McLachlan, manifested the essence of our collaborate effort into an architectural drawing … the seed began to grow.

In June of 2015, we shared this vision with you and you embraced it, giving the seed more life.

With David gone, Carol Ann’s desire to live closer to nature and quiet has increased and so we began construction of the House of Prayer earlier than anticipated, trusting that what we needed would arrive.

Our trust has been rewarded and we are almost 2/3 of the way to our goal of raising $350,000.

Taking advantage of the mild winter we broke ground in December. Coincidentally the same week that winter kicked in. A few heater failures and a couple dumps of snow could not stop the footings from being laid.

We visited the site last week and were excited to see the pony walls have been constructed and that the floor and walls will be going up soon.

As we watch these walls rise and our hearts are gladdened we are also humbled in knowing that there is still much to be done.

In addition to the cost of construction to bring the House of Prayer to fullness, we will need appliances, furniture and other household items before we can start to receive guests

We are deeply grateful for all the support, whether it has been a monetary gift or the gift of your time or your prayers.

As we continue to work toward bringing our shared vision to fruit, we again invite your support in whatever way you are able to give it.

Whether we get support from like-minded and like-spirited groups or individuals who understand the timely need for a quiet house of prayer in our world we are grateful.

We acknowledge that support comes in many forms, physical, emotional, financial and spiritual. Any and all support we receive gets us closer to completing this House of Prayer where we can continue to support and guide people on their soul journeys.

If you or your group has the desire and means to help us realize our vision we would be truly grateful. For more information, please feel free to contact us anytime.
