Queen’s House In Saskatoon Presents – A Gathering for Spiritual Directors: Ongoing Formation and Peer Support

Queen’s House Retreat and Renewal Centre in Saskatoon wants to extend to you a warm invitation to graduates of the Prairie Jubilee Program to join other spiritual directors in three gatherings at Queen’s House in the coming year.

 

Dianne Mantyka (M.Div, graduate and co-director of Queen’s House Spiritual Direction Formation Program), with Deb Arndt (B. Ed.; SoulStream’s Spiritual Direction Program), Sarah Donnelly (M.Div.; Haden Institute’s Spiritual Direction Program) and Karen Scott-Barss (RPN, BHSc, MA; Prairie Jubilee’s Spiritual Direction Program) have working together to co-ordinate these gatherings.

 

The series is entitled A Gathering for Spiritual Directors: Ongoing Formation and Peer Support” these one-day sessions will participants the opportunity to meet each other, learn from and offer support to each other, and be nurtured and fed in a variety of ways. If you are a spiritual director looking to connect with peers and to continue growing in your ministry, these days are meant for you.

 

For the first two gatherings participants will view a DVD presentation that was given by Richard Rohr, OFM at this year’s Spiritual Directors’ International Conference in Santa Fe NM. He spoke once on the history of spiritual direction within the Christian Traditions, and secondly about his understanding of spiritual direction today and as we move into the future. Both presentations were well received. These presentations will serve as a catalyst for some rich conversation amongst participants.  Here are the details:

 

DATES:

 

  • Nov 8 2014 – Will include viewing, on DVD, Fr. Richard Rohr’s talk at the SDI Emerging Wisdom conference, entitled Origins of Spiritual Companionship in Christianity. 

 

  • FEB 14 2015 – Will include viewing, on DVD, Fr. Richard Rohr’s talk at the SDI Emerging Wisdom conference, entitled Spiritual Companionship Today in Christianity.

 

  • MAY 9 2015 – Topic will be determined by participants as the group gets to know each other and discern their own needs and interests.

 

 

GATHERING TIMES:

9:30 am – 4:00 pm. 9:00 am coffee is on; come early to socialize.
